Book Title - In Search of Sea Dragons: A Fossil Hunter's Odyssey

Join Matthew on an enthralling journey into the distant past as he recounts tales from the beaches of South Wales, Somerset and Dorset where he searches for the fossilised bones of great marine reptiles, the ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs. After surviving a terrifying accident in the mountains, Matthew took up a new hobby, fossil hunting, and quickly progressed from amateur to expert collector. Whilst sharing the secrets behind some of his most extraordinary finds, Matthew will also offer practical advice for those looking to start on their own Jurassic journey of discovery and wonder.

Matthew Myerscough is a civil engineer, author and fossil hunter from Cardiff with a passion for finding marine reptiles on the beaches near his home. In Search of Sea Dragons, his first book, was published by Seren Books in March 2026. Matthew is also a qualified Mountain Leader and has survived an avalanche.
