Pterodactyl is an informal term for Pterosaurs, based on the genus of the first pterosaur known to science, Pterodactylus Antiquus, which lived alongside the dinosaurs. That may sound scary but fret not; this cuddly flying reptile will make a great addition to any child's collection and get along with other extinct or present-day stuffed animals just fine!
